An oral request has been made by the counsel for the petitioner for carrying out the necessary correction in the name of the petitioner wherein instead of Singh, Pandey has been erroneously typed. 2.

Prayer is allowed.

Let necessary correction be carried out during the course of the day itself.

The relief sought for by the petitioner in the present Writ Petition is the direction to the respondents for release of death-cum-retiral benefits, G.P.F. and other monetary benefits which the petitioner would be entitled on the death of her husband who was working as a Sahayak Antrik Lekha Parikshan Avam Kararopan Adhikari under the respondent No.3. 5.

The contention of the counsel for the petitioner is that, the husband of the petitioner had died in harness on 07/09/2011, but though seven years have passed till date, the respondents have not released the benefits which has accrued to her on the death of her husband. 6.

The record also show that there is already a recommendation made by the Chief Executive Officer and the matter has been sent to the office of Deputy Director, Panchayat and Social Welfare Department. 7.

Thus, this Court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the Writ Petition pending.

Accordingly, the same is disposed off with a direction to the respondent No.3 to ensure that the claim of the petitioner is decided and settled within a period of 60 days from today.

The petitioner shall also be entitled for interest on the delayed retiral benefits @ 10% as it is more than 7 years that the death of the deceased employee and till date there does not seem to have been any progress in the settling of the dues to the widow of the deceased.

10. The office of the Deputy Director, Panchayat would ensure that the interest part would be recovered from the erring officer who had not processed the case of the petitioner promptly.
