1. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is the action on the part of the respondents in rejecting the claim of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment. The claim for compassionate appointment is being made on the death of the father of the petitioner who died in harness on 17.05.2013.

2. From the pleadings it reveals that on the date of death of the father of the petitioner she was a minor and she was dependent upon her mother i.e. the widow of the deceased employee. The pleadings further reveal that the widow i.e. the mother of the petitioner was also in government employment.

3. In view of the same, the petitioner, after the death of the father was totally dependent upon her mother who had sufficient source of income as she was in government employment. Therefore, the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment if has been rejected by the authorities for the said reason or any other reason, the same cannot be said to be either arbitrary or illegal.

4. The writ petition thus being devoid of merits deserves to be and is accordingly dismissed.
