Though, time was granted to learned counsel for the petitioner to file an affidavit explaining delay in filing the petition, but no application has been filed. The petitioner
seeks to challenge selection and appointment of respondent No.8 on the post of Data Entry Operator vide order dated 03-11-2014.

Irrespective of the merits of the case, the petitioner has chosen to challenge the selection and appointment of respondent No.8 after almost 1 & 1⁄2 year and there is no explanation offered for such delay. Challenge to the appointment of respondent No.8 is delayed by 1 & 1⁄2 years without any explanation. 4.
In that view of the matter, irrespective of the merits of the case, I am inclined to dismiss the petition only on the ground of delay and laches. 5.
In the result, the petition is dismissed.
