Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's case is not being considered by respondent authorities for regularization on the post of Lineman in Electric Department whereas, he is working as Lineman in Nagar Panchayat Dongergaon since last 12 years and he is entitled for regularization on the said post for which, he has made several representations before respondent authorities, but no decision has been taken till this date and therefore, direction may be issued to the concerned authority to decide the same expeditiously.

Be that as it may, respondent No.3 i.e. Chief Municipal Officer, Nagar Panchayat, Dongergaon is directed to consider and take a decision on the pending representation of the petitioner in the light of judgment of Supreme Court in the case of Secretary, State of Karnataka and Others Vs. Umadevi and Others1 and in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order along with representation of the petitioner.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the said authority would be at liberty to decide the same in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observation, the writ petitions stand finally disposed of. No order as to cost(s).
