The limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition is seeking for correction of his date of birth in Passport which inadvertently has been mentioned as "22.05.1964" instead of "22.05.1967"

Counsel for the respondents submits that since this writ petition is seeking for correction of his date of birth in the Passport, an appropriate remedy would be available to approach the authorities in the Passport Department by producing appropriate documents in respect of correction sought for and the authorities in the department would take necessary steps in accordance with the Rules and Regulations governing the field.

In the light of the observations made by the Counsel for the respondents, let the petitioner approach the respondent No. 2 or the authorities before whom the petitioner is required to make an
appropriate application for correction in his date of birth. On such application, it is expected that the concerned authorities shall take appropriate decision in accordance with law at the earliest. 4.
