The petitioner was working as Sub Postmaster, which is a post under the Union of India in the Department of Communication and Information Technology.

Although the petitioner has only prayed for a direction to dispose of his appeal yet this being a service matter pertaining to a person, who was holding a post under the Union of India, this Court has no jurisdiction to entertain this writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed, as not maintainable. However, the petitioner would be at liberty to work out his remedy before the jurisdictional Central Administrative Tribunal. Sd/- Judge (Prashant Kumar Mishra) Shyna
