1. Heard.

2. This writ petition would challenge the order passed by the Superintendent of Police, Raipur, now within the jurisdiction of Superintendent of Police, Baloda Bazar, directing the petitioner's surveillance under Regulation 855 of the Police Regulations.

3. This writ petition is pending for last about 15 1⁄2 years without

there being any interim order in the petitioner's favour.

4. It appears, due to lapse of substantial time, there may or may not be requirement of continued surveillance of the petitioner.

5. Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to the Superintendent of Police, Baloda Bazar to review the order and pass a fresh order within a period of one month from today.

6. While passing such order, the Superintendent of Police, Baloda Bazar shall provide an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. If no order is passed by the Superintendent of Police within one month, the impugned order shall cease to operate against the petitioner.
