1. The petitioner is seeking direction to the respondents to decide his matter for grant of proforma seniority from 1.1.1970 i.e. from the date when the petitioner became graduate. The relief was claimed on the strength of the State Government's circular which has been applied

and relief has been granted to many similarly placed teachers, one such teacher being respondent No.6 B.L. Maitri, working in the same school where the petitioner was working. The petitioner would also rely on order dated 30.3.1996 (Annexure-P/3) by which apart from respondent No.6, some other teachers were also allowed Kramonnati/ Senior Pay Scale.

2. It appears, despite representation by the petitioner, the State Government has not decided the matter. Therefore, considering the nature of dispute, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition with direction to respondent No.2 - Director, Public Instructions to decide the petitioner's claim regarding seniority, Kramonnati, Senior Pay Scale and revised pension etc. within a period of 2 months from the date of submission of a detailed representation along with certified copy of this order.
