The applicant has preferred this application for grant of bail as he is arrested in connection with Crime No.230/2014 registered in Police Station Saraipali (Mahasamund) for offence punishable under section 20 (b) of N.D.P.S. Act {wrongly mentioned in the order sheet Section 20 (c)}. 2.

It is a case of bail jump. Order would show that applicant was enlarged on bail. Subsequenlty, he remained absent on 29/09/2014 and permanent arrest warrant was issued. Subsequently, he was arrested on 5/05/2016. Therefore, he was absent for more than 1 1⁄2 years. 3.

Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant was injured because of the accident, therefore he could not appear. Therefore, learned counsel submits that the applicant may be released on bail. 4.

Learned State counsel opposes the prayer for grant of bail. 5.

No documents have been placed on record to substantiate such submission. In view of this, in absence of any document, this court is not inclined to release the applicant on bail as the applicant remained absent

for more than 1 1⁄2 years.

Accordingly, the bail application is dismissed. However, trial court is requested to expedite the trial.
