Order On Board 17/04/2018 (1) After hearing for fairly long time, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that he may be permitted to file application under Section 17(3) of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (henceforth "Act, 1957") before the competent authority and the same may be directed to be decided expeditiously.

(2) Prayer appears to be fair and reasonable and accordingly the same is allowed. (3) Be that as it may, the petitioner is at liberty to make an application under Section 17(3) of the Act, 1957 before the competent authority and, in turn, the authority concerned shall consider and decide the same expeditiously in accordance with law.
