1. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is entitled to be considered for promotion on the post of Superintendent Land Records w.e.f. 24.4.1987 and subsequently to the post of Deputy collector with effect from the date his juniors have been promoted with all consequential benefits.

2. Learned Panel Lawyer for the respondents/State would submit that the petitioner has already granted promotion w.e.f. 5th September, 2006 on the post of Deputy Collector which he has accepted and now he has already retired from service.

3. In view of above, no cause of action survives as the petitioner has already been promoted to the post of Deputy Collector.
