1. Learned counsel for the petitioner is permitted to correct the description of the appellate authority i.e. respondent No.3.

2. This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been preferred for seeking a direction to respondent No.3 to decide petitioner's pending appeal within a period of two months.

3. Petitioner has been removed from service by order passed by the

Superintendent of Police, Balod on 10-1-2014, against which the petitioner claims to have preferred an appeal before the Inspector General of Police, Durg, on 8-6-2014 vide Annexure P-2.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that despite lapse of more than a year, the appeal has not been taken up for decision making, therefore, respondent No.3 the Inspector General of Police, Durg deserves to be directed to decide the same at the earliest.

5. Considering the relief claimed in the writ petition, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the same directing the appellate authority to decide petitioner's pending appeal, if the same has been preferred by the petitioner, within a period of six months from the date of submission of certified copy of this order.
