1. This is first bail application filed under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking grant of regular bail to the applicant in connection with Crime No. 22/2013 registered at Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau/Economic Offence Wing, Raipur (C.G) for the offences punishable under Sections 13(1)(e) & 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

As per the prosecution case, the applicant while working as Assistant Grade-III in the land Record Office of Collectorate, Ambikapur in between 05.07.1984 and 19.06.2013 had amassed the assets worth Rs.4,49,46,736.68 in his name and in the names of his wife and children which was 1049% over and above the actual income of the applicant from known valid sources, thereby the offence has been committed.

3. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the FIR was

filed on 14.6.2013, thereafter the investigation was carried out and the applicant has cooperated in the investigation. He further submits that the charge sheet has been filed, no further investigation is necessary and the applicant is in jail since 13.02.2018 and since voluminous documents have been filed the trial may take considerable time, therefore, the applicant may be enlarged on bail.

4. Per contra, learned State Counsel opposes the bail application.

5. Considering the fact that the FIR was filed on 14.06.2013 and the applicant has been arrested on 13.02.2018 as also the fact that the charge sheet has been filed and the entire evidence available in this case is documentary in nature, I am inclined to allow this bail application.

Accordingly, the bail application is allowed and the applicant is directed to be released on bail on his executing a personal bond in sum of Rs.25,000/- with one surety in the like sum to the satisfaction of the concerned trial Court for his appearance before the said Court as and when directed.
