The applicant has preferred this bail application under Section 439 of Cr.P.C. in connection with Crime No.299/2017 registered at Police Station Kotwali, Raipur, District Raipur (C.G.) for the offence punishable under Section 20-B of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act. 2.
Present applicant is in jail since 16/09/2017. 3.
Perusal of record would show that most of the witnesses have already been examined and only a couple of witnesses are left to be examined who too are departmental witnesses.

Since the trial itself has reached its fag end so also taking note of the gravity of the offence and the quantity of Cannabis seized from the possession of the present applicant, this Court is not inclined to entertain the bail application at this juncture.

The present MCRC thus deserve to be and is accordingly rejected. 6.
However, the trial court is directed to ensure that the trial is concluded as early as possible.
