1. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is presently working as Professor Anatomy Medical College, Raipur (C.G.), he fulfills the required eligibility criteria for promotion to the post of Director Professor, however, the respondents have not taken steps to convene the DPC for making promotion to the said post.

2. It is further putforth that the petitioner will attain the age of superannuation in December, 2017, therefore, if DPC is not convened the petitioner shall suffer irreparable loss.

3. Shri Vyas learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has submitted representation before the respondent which is pending consideration, therefore, at this stage, the respondent may be directed to decide the petitioner's representation at the earliest.

4. Considering the limited relief prayed for in the petition, at this stage, it is deemed appropriate that the writ petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent to consider and decide the petitioner's pending representation at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 weeks from the date of submission of certified copy of this order along with fresh representation before the competent authority.

5. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.

6. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the respondent authorities shall decide the matter, on its own merits, strictly in accordance with law, without treating any observation made in this order, as opinion on the merits of the case.
