This is an office reference on the P.U.D. dated 08.02.2019 sent by the Second Additional Sessions Judge, Ramanujganj to the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ramanujganj, Balrampur-Ramanujganj through the District and Sessions Judge, Balrampur seeking extension of time for conclusion of the trial. 2.
The matter pertains to Crime No. 17/2017, Special Criminal Case No.06/2018 pending before the Court of the Second Additional Sessions Judge, Ramanujganj to the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ramanujganj, Balrampur-Ramanujganj where offence under Section 20(II)(?k) of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.

This Court while disposing M.Cr.C. 6200/2018 on 10.12.2018 had directed the trial Court to expedite the trial and dispose off the case as soon as possible preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of the order. However, the trial could not conclude within the stipulated time of said 2 months. 4.
Vide the said PUD the Second Additional Sessions Judge, Ramanujganj submits that in the said period of two months prosecution witnesses from serial No. 5 to 13 i.e. in total 9 witnesses have been examined, further defence witnesses are to be examined, thus, prays for further period of 2 months. 5.
Taking into consideration the practical aspects of the matter, this Court is of the opinion that one month's time would be proper and sufficient for conclusion of the trial.

Accordingly, It is expected that the Court below shall put all efforts to conclude the trial and dispose off the case within one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
