1. The applicant has preferred this application for grant of anticipatory bail, as he apprehends his arrest in connection with Crime No.15/2020, registered at Police Station Kodenar, District Bastar C.G. for offences punishable under Sections 294, 323, 506, 498 of the IPC.

2. Marriage between the applicant's son - Bhagirathi Sethiya and the complainant was solemnized on 17.02.2017. According to the prosecution, demand of Rs.3 Lacs was

MCRCA No. 434 of 2020 made on 14.08.2018 and she was beaten by the members of her in-law family including her husband on 19.08.2018. In this incident she received multiple contusions over her fingers.

3. Learned State counsel would oppose the prayer for anticipatory bail.

4. Considering the fact that the FIR was lodged on 21.02.2020 i.e., after 1 1⁄2 years of the incident and for the fact that the applicant is the father-in-law of the complainant, this Court is inclined to extend the benefit of anticipatory bail.

5. Accordingly, the application is allowed and it is directed that in the event of arrest of the applicant, he shall be released on anticipatory bail on his executing a personal bond for a sum of Rs.50,000/- with one surety in the like sum to the satisfaction of the arresting officer with the following conditions:- (I) he shall make himself available for interrogation by a police officer as and when required;

(ii) he shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the Court or to any police officer.
