The petitioners, who were appointed as Part Time Sweeper on a fixed salary of about Rs.1400/- to 1600/- which was the existing collector rate, have filed this petition for a direction that they are entitled for grant of minimum wages as per minimum wage fixed vide letter dated 25.04.2013 (Annexure P-5).

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have made representations for grant of minimum wages, however, the same is not fixed with respect to the petitioners. 3.

The appointment letters placed by the petitioners would show that they were appointed in the intermediate period of 2012 and further up-till 2014 respectively. It has not been disputed that the petitioners were discharging their duties, therefore, if the collectorate wages are revised in case of petitioners then in such case the petitioners are also required to be considered for grant of appropriate and existing minimum wages prescribed by the Collector.

Accordingly, it is directed that if the petitioners make separate representation further to the Respondent No.4, the same may be considered and appropriate orders may be passed for grant of appropriate wages, according to current rate of wages applicable to the category of employment in which the petitioners are employed considering their past service.
