1. This is first bail application filed under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking grant of regular bail to the applicant in connection with Crime No. 393 of 2017 registered at Police Station Sirgitti, Bilaspur, Distt. Bilaspur (C.G) for the offences punishable under Section 20-B of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1885.

2. As per the prosecution case, on a raid being conducted on 29.12.2017, 120 Kgs, of contraband Ganja was seized from the possession of the applicant.

3. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant is in jail since 2017 and by now 10 witnesses have already been examined out of total 13 witnesses and the trial is not concluded, therefore, the applicant may be enlarged on bail.

4. Per contra, learned State Counsel opposes the bail

application.

5. Considering the fact that 10 witnesses have already been examined and the trial is at the fag end and further considering the quantity of Cannabis allegedly seized from the applicant, I am not inclined to allow this bail application, at this stage. Accordingly, the bail application is rejected.

6. The trial Court is expected to expedite the trial as early as possible.
