1. Challenge in the present writ petition is to the order dated 05.03.2016 (Annexure P/8) passed by the Commissioner, Surguja Division, Ambikapur, whereby the appeal preferred by the petitioner against non granting him promotion has been rejected.

2. The reply of the State shows that the petitioner has not been granting promotion on account of pending Departmental Enquiry against him.

3. At this juncture, learned counsel for the petitioner makes a limited prayer that this petition may be disposed of with a direction to the respondents to ensure that the enquiry is concluded at the earliest. He further submits that charge sheet and Departmental Enquiry is pending consideration before the authorities for the last more than

five years. He also makes a submission that another supplementary charge sheet has been issued on 01.11.2016 which is also pending consideration.

4. The State counsel does not have any objection to the prayer of the petitioner for an early conclusion of Departmental Enquiry.

5. Accordingly, the present writ petition, at this juncture, stands disposed of with a direction that all endeavors shall be made by the department to ensure that Departmental Enquiry pending against the petitioner shall be concluded at the earliest preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. It is also made clear that the petitioner shall render full co-operation in the Departmental Enquiry to be concluded at the earliest. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy) Judge inder
