1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that pursuant to the policy of the State Government to grant permanent lease, the petitioner who was running a shop on a land bearing Khasra No. 13A, Plot No. 99/A admeasuring 12.25 sq. m. filed an application for grant of settlement lease. The said application though was proceeded however the same has not been granted to the petitioner. Thereafter, the petitioner has made an application to the Collector which has not been decided till date. Therefore, the limited prayer made by the petitioner by way of this writ petition is that the Collector may be directed to decide the issue of settlement of land in favour of the petitioner within a stipulated time.
2. Since the limited prayer is made that the application which is filed before the Collector may be decided, the petitioner may be given liberty to make a fresh representation to the Collector within a period of two weeks and if such representation is filed, then the same may be decided within a further period of
-260 days from the date of receipt of such representation. It is made clear that this Court has not made any opinion on the entitlement of the petitioner.
