The present MCC has been filed by Applicants seeking extension of time for compliance of Order dated 14.12.2020 passed by this Court in WPS No. 4127/2020.

Learned Counsel appearing for Applicants submits that on account of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Applicants have not been able to comply with the directions given by this Court within the stipulated time and therefore they pray for a further extension of time to comply with the said Order. 3.

Perusal of Order dated 14.12.2020 would show that the only direction was for Respondents/Applicants to decide the representation of Petitioner/Nonapplicant within a period of three months' time. This otherwise does not require such a long time for the concerned Authorities to take a decision, particularly when the offices of Applicants are functional unless they say because of the effect of COVID-19 the concerned Officer was not present in the Office for the stipulated period or the Office was not functional for a considerable long period, which is not the ground in the present MCC or at least does not reflect from the contents of the present MCC.

Reluctantly though, this Court is constrained to grant 45 days' further time to Applicants to comply with the order passed by this Court.

As such, the MCC is allowed. Applicants are directed to comply with the Order dated 14.12.2020 passed by this Court in WPS No. 4127/2020 within a further period of 45 days from today, failing which the original Writ Petitioner would have appropriate recourse available under the law for non-compliance of the order passed by this Court.
