The relief sought for by the petitioner in the present writ petition was for a direction to the respondents to decide the application for voluntary retirement.

The writ petition was filed as early as in the year 2014 and by efflux of time either the petitioner's relief must have been granted by the department or he must have crossed the age of superannuation and retired from service. In either case, the present writ petition has become infructuous. 3.

The writ petition accordingly stands dismissed as having become infructuous, reserving the right of the petitioner to move appropriate application in case if grievance still survives. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy) /sharad/ Judge
