1. The limited prayer which the petitioner has made in the present writ petition is for consideration of the petitioner for promotion from the Post of Forest Guard to the Post of Forest Officer.

2. According to the petitioner, he fulfills all the eligibility criteria including passing of the departmental examination for the same. He submits that the petitioner has made a detailed representation to the authorities concerned but till date the same has not been decided.

3. Given the limited dispute that the petitioner has raised, this Court does not intend to keep the writ petition pending rather ends of

justice would meet if respondents No. 2 & 3 are directed to decide the representation of the petitioner so far as his claim for promotion is concerned subject to verification of the credentials, seniority, availability of vacancy and other eligibility criteria applicable as per the service rules.

4. Let this exercise be done within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. Needless to mention that this Court has not expressed any opinion so far as the merits of the case is concerned.
