By way of this instant writ petition, the petitioner is challenging the order dated 23.09.2017 whereby the Collector cum Licensing Authority, Raipur has rejected the application filed by the petitioner for grant of gun license.

Mr. H. B. Agrawal, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner after arguing for a fairly long time would submit that petitioner may be allowed to prefer an appeal against the order rejecting petitioner's application for grant of gun license before the Commissioner, Raipur as per Rule 5 of the Arms Rules, 1962.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner. 4.
The prayer appears to be fair and reasonable and is accordingly allowed.

Be that as it may, if such an appeal is preferred by the petitioner
before the appellate authority then, the appellate authority shall consider and do well to decide the said appeal expeditiously preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of filing of the appeal along with copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands finally disposed of. No order as to cost(s).
