Hon'ble Shri Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra Order On Board 17/11/2015 Heard finally with the consent of learned counsel for the parties. (2) Perusal of the impugned order passed by the SDO (Revenue), Rajnandgaon, would indicate that the petitioner's application for grant of Caste Certificate is still pending consideration before the jurisdictional Tehsildar.

In the said pending application, the Tehsildar has sought for some document from the petitioner. However, instead of supplying the document, the petitioner preferred an appeal, which has been dismissed by the impugned order.

(3) Mr. Bhagat, learned counsel for the petitioner, would submit that under the Chhattisgarh Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class (Regulation for Certification of Social Status) Act, 2013, the SDO (Revenue) is the competent authority for issuance of caste status certificate.

(4) In view of the above, the petitioner may move an appropriate application before the jurisdictional SDO (Revenue), for grant of caste status certificate.
