1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents for considering the claim of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment.

2. The facts of the case are that the father of the petitioner working as a Shiksha Karmi Grade-II died in harness on 05.06.2008. The petitioner moved an application for grant of compassionate appointment. Since the petitioner did not have the requisite qualification for appointment as an assistant teacher (Panchayat), the Department vide their letter dated 23.01.2016 sought for consent of the petitioner for appointment as a Panchayat Secretary by way of

compassionate appointment. It is said that the petitioner immediately gave his consent, however, thereafter no further action has been taken by respondent no.3 in this regard.

3. Given the said fact that the case of the petitioner is still pending consideration before respondent no.3, this Court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the petition pending, rather ends of justice would meet if the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.3 to ensure that the application for compassionate appointment of the petitioner is processed and finalized keeping in view the correspondence made by respondent no.3 on 23.01.2016, at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
