The grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the respondents in not continuing the contractual appointment of the petitioners and thereby replacing the petitioners by another set of contractual employees.

Perusal of the record would show that after the discontinuance of the services of the petitioners, the Department has already initiated steps and

-2have appointed the respondents No. 4 & 5 on contractual basis. Thus, the post against which the petitioners were working at one point of time already stands filed up.

Nonetheless, this Court would like to dispose of the writ petition with an observation that the petitioners may approach the respondent No.3 in respect of their claim as contractual employees and the respondent No.3 in case if they intend to take services on contractual basis, the petitioners may be considered for the said contractual appointment considering their past services that they have rendered unless the services of the petitioners were either unsatisfactory or were discontinued for any misconduct. 4.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed off.
