In response to the Court's query as to why decision on the petitioner's claim for grant of proforma promotion has not been taken, referring to the averments made in the reply, learned State counsel submits that the decision would require examination of various records, which is still in possession of State of Madhya Pradesh. It is further submitted that as and when records are made available, the decision shall be taken expeditiously.

In view of above, this petition, at this stage, need not be kept pending and finally disposed off with a direction to respondent-State of Chhattisgarh to decide the petitioner's claim for grant of proforma promotion within a period of four months. The

respondent-State of Chhattisgarh shall duly communicate the concerned Officers of State of Madhya Pradesh that the decision is required to be taken in a time bound manner and therefore, relevant records, which are in possession of the Officials of State of Madhya Pradesh, are required to be immediately transferred to the State of Chhattisgarh for expeditious disposal of the case.
