1. The only grievance which the petitioner has raised in the present writ petition is that the petitioner has passed a departmental examination in the year 2007 and that on clearing the departmental examination, he is entitled for one increment.

2. However, the Department has given increment only prospectively whereas according to the petitioner, he should be granted the benefit of

-2increment immediately after the completion of one year service from the date of his appointment.

3. The limited prayer that the petitioner has made in the present writ petition, is for a direction to the respondent No. 1 & 2 to take a decision on the representation which the petitioner has made in this regard, vide Annexure P/11 and Annexure P/12 dated 01.03.2017 and 24.04.2018 respectively. The petitioner would also be at liberty to file a fresh representation if he so wants, supported with all the relevant rules and regulations and on the basis he is making his claim.

4. Let the aforesaid respondent No. 1 & 2 take an appropriate decision within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It shall be the duty to the petitioner to approach the respondent No. 1 & 2, so far as the order passed by this Court is concerned along with the representation if he so wants.
