The petitioner has filed this petition being aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents in considering and promoting the petitioner to the next higher post of Sanitary Inspector. He submits that the President-in-Council in its meeting dated 29-01-2013 passed a resolution in favour of the petitioner and thereafter, the matter was forwarded to the Directorate for sending its approval. The Directorate vide its memo dated 18-06-2013 stated that the matter may be decided by the Municipal Council on its own level. It is submitted that since then, no steps have been taken with the result that the petitioner is still continuing on the same post and there is vacant post available. 3.

In the light of aforesaid situation and considering the alleged inaction on the part of the respondent-Municipal Council stated above, I deem it expedient to dispose off this petition with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the claim of the petitioner and appropriate order may be passed within a

period of three months.
