The petitioners are assailing the order passed by the Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue) (Town), Raipur, whereby their application for issuance of social status certificate has been rejected. 2.
The impugned order is appealable under Section 5 of the Chhattisgarh Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes
(Regulation of Social Status Certification) Act, 2013. In view of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in the matter of Union of India and others v. Major General Shri Kant Sharma and another1, the writ petition is not maintainable.
