1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied at this stage if a direction is issued to the respondent authority to decide petitioner's pending appeal within a reasonable time. It is submitted that against an order of imposition of penalty of dismissal from service, the petitioner had preferred statutory appeal before the Vice Chancellor of the State University on 2.3.2015 but the appeal has remained pending and not decided even after lapse of more than two years, therefore, appropriate direction may be issued.

2. Without commenting upon merits of the appeal, at this stage, I am inclined to dispose off the petition with a direction to the Appellate Authority of the respondent-University to decide petitioner's appeal as early as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order subject to the corporation by the petitioner.
