1. The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction for payment of salary in respect of period from 7.9.2016 to 30.12.2016 on the basis of recommendations made by the Range Officer.

2. I find that the competent authority would be respondent No.2 to decide the issue with regard to petitioner's claim of salary for the period stated hereinabove.

3. Learned counsel for the State also submits that the respondent No.2 would look into the matter, examine the case and then take a decision.

4. In view of the above, at this stage, the petition is finally disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide petitioner's claim of salary. The petitioner should either be paid salary for the period claimed by him within a period of 3 months and if, for any reason, the claim is found not tenable, speaking order

-2should be passed by respondent No.2 so that the petitioner may take appropriate remedy.
