1. The petitioner is aggrieved by non-consideration of his application for grant of compassionate appointment.

2. Submission of learned counsel for the petitioner is that father of the petitioner who was in service of the respondent department, died on 20th July, 2015 and as per the policy for compassionate appointment which was

-2prevalent at the time of death of his father, there was no impediment for grant of compassionate appointment.

3. Be that as it may, once an application for compassionate appointment has been made, respondents are duty bound to apply their mind with reference to policy which was in force at the time when petitioner's father died and take appropriate decision on petitioner's application one way or the other.

4. Let the decision be taken on petitioner's application for compassionate appointment within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order by respondent No.2.
