At the outset, Mr. K. R. Nair, learned counsel for the petitioner, would submit that the petitioner's juniors have been promoted on the post of Superintending Engineer (SE) and thereafter on the next higher post of Chief Engineer (CE), whereas his representations to promote him on the post of SE and thereafter CE are pending consideration before the State Government since 15.01.2020, 17.05.2020 & 17.07.2020, which may be directed to be considered and decided expeditiously.

Learned State counsel would dispute the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

Be that as it may, since the petitioner's representations are pending before the State

Government since 15.01.2020, 17.05.2020 & 17.07.2020, the State Government is directed to decide the representations of the petitioner, strictly on its own merits and in accordance with law within 4 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No order as to cost (s).

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
