1. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents in not taking a decision on the application for grant of compassionate appointment, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. As per the pleadings, the husband of the petitioner was working under the respondents as an Assistant Teacher (LB) who died in harness on 08.11.2020. After the death of her husband, the petitioner/widow moved an application before the respondents on 04.02.2021 and the respondents till date are sitting over the said application without taking any decision and the petitioner is facing great hardship in sustaining herself and her dependents, which has led to the filing of the present writ petition.

3. The State counsel on the other hand submits that the application was filed by the petitioner only on 08.02.2021 thereafter for a substantial period it was under lock-down therefore perhaps a decision could not be taken, However the same shall be decided in accordance with the policy governing the field at the earliest.

4. Given the said submission by the counsel for the parties, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents No. 2 & 3 to take a decision on the claim of the petitioner at the earliest in accordance with the policy governing the field within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. The writ petition accordingly stands disposed of. Sd/- 1.
