1. The petitioner seems to be aggrieved of the inaction of the respondents in not initiating promotion process for filling up of the post of Senior Scientific Assistant of which the feeder post is Junior Scientific Assistant on which post the petitioner is working.

2. According to counsel for the petitioner, he fulfills all the eligibility criteria for promotion and there are vacancies available on the promotional post of Senior Scientific Assistant. He submits that under the rules the respondents are required to constitute a committee for filling up of the promotional post and the Committee so constituted should hold their meeting at least once in a year. However, for last couple of years there has been no committee or meetings held which has led to the filing of the present writ petition. According to the petitioner he has already made certain representations to the authorities in the department in this regard, the same may be considered and decided in accordance with law.

-23. The State counsel submits that since the petitioner's representation is pending consideration, the writ petition at this juncture may be disposed of directing the authorities to take a decision on the representation in accordance with law.

4. Given the said submissions by the counsel for the parties, the writ petition stands disposed of directing the State authorities to consider and decide the grievance of the petitioner by deciding his representation in accordance with rules and regulations at the earliest preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
