1. Proceedings of this matter have been taken up through video conferencing.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's application for grant of parole, which was filed on 10.04.2014, has yet not been decided by the District Magistrate, Janjgir-Champa (C.G.).

3. Ms. Veena Nair, learned State Counsel would submit that the concerned District Magistrate, Janjgir-Champa (C.G.) would consider the petitioner's application within three weeks in light of the decision rendered by this Court in the matter of Rakesh Shende v. State of Chhattisgarh (in WPCR No. 29 of 2016, decided on 18.11.2016).

4. In view of learned State Counsel's submission, the petitioner's application dated 10.04.2014

will be considered preferably within three weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law.

5. With the aforesaid observations/ directions, the writ petition stands disposed off.
