Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite statutory prescribed period of 60 days for disposal of application, the petitioner's application for counter signature has remained pending with the competent authority since one year and four months. 2.

Learned State counsel submits that the application of the petitioner shall be disposed off by the competent authority at the earliest. 3.

Taking into consideration the submission and the statutory prescription, it is directed that the application of the petitioner shall be considered and decided in accordance with law as early as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order.
