1. Proceedings of this matter have been taken up through video conferencing.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's application for grant of parole, which was filed on 03.04.2018, has not

been decided, yet by the District Magistrate, Raipur (C.G.).

3. Mr. Ravi Bhaghat, learned State Counsel would submit that the concerned District Magistrate, Raipur (C.G.) would consider the petitioner's application within seven days from today in light of the decision rendered by this Court in the matter of Rakesh Shende v. State of Chhattisgarh (in WPCR No. 29 of 2016, decided on 18.11.2016).

4. In view of his submission, the petitioner's application dated 03.04.2018 will be considered preferably within seven days from today, in accordance with law. District Magistrate, Raipur, shall file an affidavit before this Court assigning that how may parole applications are pending and have been decided yet.

5. With the aforesaid observations/ directions, the writ petition stands disposed off.
