1. The grievance of the petitioner is that even though he moved an application before the respondent authority on 24.11.2016 for extension of route up to Biharpur from Balangi on a permit already issued having permanent Stage Carriage Permit No.589/ABR/2016 (Ambikapur to Balangi), the application has remained pending without any decision.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the writ petition may be disposed off with a direction to the respondent to decide the said application expeditiously.
3. Learned counsel for the State submits that the application of the petitioner shall be considered and decided in accordance with law and on its own merits as expeditiously as possible.
4. In view of the fact that petitioner's application for extension of route is pending consideration, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to the respondents to decide petitioner's application pending before it for the concerned route, within a reasonable time.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the respondent authorities shall decide the matter on its own merits, strictly in accordance with law, without treating any observation made in this order, as opinion on the merits of the case.
