The limited grievance which the petitioner has sought for in the present writ petition is for an appropriate direction to the respondents to ensure that the departmental enquiry initiated against the petitioner is concluded at the earliest.

According to the petitioner, he would stand retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation w.e.f. 30.06.2019. It is further contended that the petitioner was issued with a charge-sheet on 30.07.2018 and till date the Inquiry Officer also has not been appointed. According to the petitioner, the petitioner was not even duly served with the charge-sheet and he had to ultimately obtain the same under the Right to Information Act. 3.

Given the aforesaid factual matrix of the case, particularly taking note of the fact that the petitioner is retiring on 30.06.2019, this Court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the petition pending and the anxiety shown and the relief sought for by the petitioner is also seems to be genuine and justified and this Court thus is of the opinion that ends of

-2justice would meet if the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to ensure that the departmental enquiry, if the Department intends to proceed with and conclude at the earliest preferably before the petitioner crosses the age of superannuation. 4.

The petitioner also is directed to ensure rendering complete cooperation for early completion of the departmental enquiry. 5.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed off.
