1. The limited grievance is raising through the present writ petition is the non-settlement of the GPF payment payable to the petitioner on his retirement.

2. It is a case where the petitioner retired from service on 30.06.2006 and his GPF account has till date not been settled.

3. Counsel for the State as well as counsel for the respondent No.1 submits that there appears to be some disputes, so far as the payment of the GPF amount to the petitioner is concerned.

4. Needless to mention it is almost 12 years that the petitioner has retired. By this time the respondents were bound to settle the GPF account. If for any reason, there is no amount lying under the GPF account payable to the petitioner, it should have been intimated to the petitioner by the respondents, which till date perhaps have not been done.

5. Given the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition itself is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.1 to scrutinize the GPF account of the petitioner and intimate the same to the petitioner within a period of 30 days from today and in case if any payment is to be paid, the same be paid forthwith, and if not, an appropriate intimation be given to the petitioner.

6. The writ petition stands disposed off.
