This contempt petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging willful disobedience of order dated 18.06.2013 passed by this Court in WP(S) No.1492 of 2013.

Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that vide order dated 18.06.2013, this Court directed the respondent to maintain status quo with regard to petitioner's status which interim order has continued and the petition is still pending. However, the respondent issued seniority list in which, the petitioner has been shown as Forest Guard whereas he was continuing as Forester by way of promotion. It is submitted that Forest Guard have been promoted as Forester vide order dated 31.12.2015.

Reply has been filed by the respondent submitting that there is no violation of interim order dated 18.06.2013 passed by this Court. The promotion order of the petitioner was already cancelled and he

was reverted to the lower post on which he is continuing. The status which was existing on the date of the interim order is being maintained.

The petition filed by the petitioner is still pending. This Court directed status quo to be maintained and the stand of the respondent is that before the order was passed, the petitioner was already reverted to the lower post. Therefore, in this view of the matter, I am not inclined to initiate any contempt proceedings and the petitioner has liberty to make suitable application in the pending writ petition. 5.
