1. The return of the respondents discloses that the operative reason for nonissuance of appointment order of the candidates placed in the waiting list including the petitioner is that the selection has been challenged and there is an interim order passed by the Division Bench in Writ Appeal No.11 of 2017 that no further appointment shall be made by the State to the category of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in Govt. Engineering Colleges and to the category of Lecturers in the Govt. Polytechnic Colleges until otherwise directed by the Court. Therefore, at this stage, no mandamus can be issued to the respondents to exhaust select list by appointing the petitioner.

2. The petition is accordingly disposed off at this stage with liberty to the
