The only relief which the petitioners have sought for in this petition is for a direction to the respondent No.3 to decide the pending representation dated 08.05.2018.

The claim of the petitioners is that, the petitioners being senior in the substantive post of Head Constable are entitled for promotion to the

post of Assistant Sub Inspector, but on account of rearranging seniority of the petitioners in the Head Constable cadre, the petitioners have been deprived of their promotion which they would have got either along with respondents No.5 to 7 or, if not, earlier. 3.

Taking into consideration the entire facts and circumstances of the case, without entering into the merits of the case, this court is of the opinion that ends of justice would meet if the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.3 to decide the pending representation so far as seniority dispute of the petitioners are concerned and an appropriate order is passed at the earliest preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It shall be the duty of the petitioner to apprise the respondent No.3 so far as order passed by this court is concerned. 4.
