1. Petitioner's father was working as Assistant Grade-III in the District Employment Office, Manendragarh, district Korea. He died in harness on 08.05.2014, the petitioner moved an application for grant of compassionate appointment in terms of the State Government's policy dated 10.06.2013. The said application is under consideration before the competent authority, however, no final order has not yet been passed.

2. In the present writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for issuance of

direction to the respondents to grant compassionate appointment to the petitioner.

3. When petitioner's application still remains pending and has not been disposed of, it would not be appropriate to this Court to issue any direction for his appointment, however, at the same time, the respondents are duty bound to dispose of the said application at the earliest.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide petitioner's pending application for grant of compassionate appointment, if it is still pending, within a period of three months, in accordance with the State Government's policy, from the date of submission of certified copy of this order.

5. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the respondent authorities shall decide the matter, on its own merits, strictly in accordance with law, without treating any observation made in this order, as opinion on the merits of the case.
