This contempt petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging willful disobedience of order dated 10.04.2017 passed by this Court in WPS No.637 of 2007.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court had directed the respondents to hold review DPC. He submits that the order of the Court was served in the office of Secretary of the Department on 29.05.2017 and till date, the petitioner has not heard regarding compliance of the order. 3.

Taking into consideration the exercise required to be undertaken, that is, holding review DPC, this Court did not fix any time for completion of exercise. However, even in case where no time limit is fixed for compliance of the Court's order, the order is required to be complied with within a reasonable time. More than six months have elapsed and no decision has comeforth. Therefore, in these circumstances, it would be appropriate to direct the respondents to ensure holding of DPC and conclude the exercise within an outer limit of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. If the review DPC is not held within the said period, it will be open for the petitioner to revive the contempt petition. 4.

The contempt petition is disposed off.
