Mr. Anup Majumdar, learned counsel for the petitioner, would submit that the petitioner was initially appointed on the post of Lower
Division Clerk on adhoc basis and thereafter in the year 1986 he was regularized on the said post. He would further submit that vide gradation list (Annexure-P/7), the seniority of the petitioner has been shown w.e.f. 12.03.1990 instead of 25.03.1985. The petitioner is also entitled for promotion on the next higher post. The petitioner has also made representation to the respondent authorities in this regard, but the same has not been considered and decided till date.

Mr. Shakti Singh, learned State counsel, would submit that the petitioner's representation shall be considered and decided within reasonable time.

Be that as it may, the respondent authorities are directed to consider and decide the petitioner's representation in accordance with law by a reasoned and speaking order within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is at liberty to make fresh representation and file documents in support of his claim within a period of 2 weeks from today.

With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No order as to cost (s).
